Looking Ahead
Winds are expected to diminish Wednesday through the end of the work week as high pressure pulls farther away from the state and a cold front approaches from the west. The cold front will then stall out north of Kauai Thursday night and Friday. This will allow for afternoon sea breezes and night time land breezes in many areas through late in the week. Another cold front is expected to move into and possibly through the islands Saturday and Saturday night.
Today
East winds are expected today from 15 to 20 mph. Mostly cloudy skies are expected with showers likely in windward and mauka areas. Partly cloudy skies are forecast for leeward spots with sunny skies in the morning and isolated showers late in the day as cloud cover builds. High temperatures from 78° to 84°.
UV index at 6 (“high” exposure level)
Tonight
Variable winds are expected from 5 to 15 mph. Low temperatures from 67° to 72°. Partly cloudy skies with isolated showers for leeward spots. Mostly cloudy skies with showers likely in windward areas.
