Transmission Line Work to Cause Lane Closure
Transmission line work will take place along Highway 190 over a three month period, according to Hawai’i Electric Light officials.
Throughout the duration of the work, a partial lane closure will be in effect, beginning just west of the Saddle Road Junction at the 17-mile marker and heading towards Pu’uwa’awa’a,at the 25 mile marker.
Officials say the closure will allow crews to upgrade both the lines and equipment to improve system reliability.
Work is set to begin this week and will run through late March. The closure of one lane will be in effect from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Delays in the area of up to 20 minutes should be anticipated, and if possible motorists, should use alternate routes.
