Non-profit organizations throughout the state will once again be invited to apply for State Grants-in-Aid, an amount that totaled near $30 million in 2014.
Jill Tokuda, Senate Ways and Means Committee Chair, along with House Finance Committee Chair Sylvia Luke, made the announcement Wednesday, noting that the grants may become available and qualified non-profits who apply will be considered during the 2016 Regular Session.
Grant money in the past was given to nonprofit groups and other organizations that were seen as complimentary to state government function, like health, educational, workforce development, and social services, cultural, and historical activities.
The deadline for applications is before 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 22.

Qualified groups should visit the Legislature’s website to review information on the GIA process, beginning next week.
