Hawai’i County Opens New Business Centers

Two new Business Resource Centers were recently opened on the Big Island.

The County of Hawai’i’s Department of Research and Development initiated the centers in an effort to support local entrepreneurs forming small businesses.

One center is located on each end of the Big Island, at the department’s offices in the Hawai’i County Building in Hilo and the West Hawai’i Civic Center in Kona.

Small businesses in need of resources can visit the center, where they will find a one-stop-shop for small business information.

The locations are equipped with a computer for public use, business registration forms, and staff that can provide assistance to entrepreneurs that need help getting started.

Along with the County, the Hawai’i Small Business Development Center Network, the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce, the State Departments of Commerce & Consumer Affairs and Taxation, and other County agencies have partnered together to create the center.

Those wishing to visit one of the Business Resource Centers can do so Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the exception of state holidays.
