A Small Craft Advisory is posted for all Big Island coastal waters and the ʻAlenuihāhā channel through 6 p.m. Tuesday for east winds up to 30 knots and seas up to 14 feet.

A High Surf Advisory is in effect for east facing shores through Tuesday at 6 p.m. Surf heights of 6 to 9 foot faces are expected.

Looking Ahead

Breezy trades are forecast to continue through the work week. Clouds and showers riding in with the trades will favor windward and mauka areas with a few showers drifting over to the leeward side from time to time. The strength of the trades might ease slightly toward next weekend.

Today

Today mostly cloudy skies are expected with scattered showers for windward spots. The Kona side is expected to be sunny to start and partly cloudy in the afternoon with isolated showers. High temperatures from 84° to 89°. Northeast winds are forecast from 10 to 25 mph with higher gusts.

Tonight

Northeast winds are expected in the evening from 10 to 20 mph. Low temperatures from 72° to 77°. Mostly cloudy skies are expected in the evening with numerous showers for windward spots. Leeward spots should be partly cloudy and hazy.
