Big Island Boards, Commissions Seek Volunteers
Vacancies on various Big Island boards, commissions and committees that represent the island are currently looking to be filled by qualified and dedicated volunteers, according to the Office of the Governor.
Governor David Ige makes appointments and nominations to more than 185 boards and commissions established by the State of Hawai’i Constitution, state statutes, and executive orders. These boards give the public an opportunity to have a voice in their government and influence decisions that help shape life for Hawai’i residents.
Boards with vacancies seeking to be filled include: The Board of Certification of Operating Personnel in Wastewater Treatment Plants, Emergency Medical Services Advisory Committee, Community-Based Economic Development Authority Council, and Hawai‘i Health Systems Corporation for West Hawai‘i and East Hawai‘i.
A complete list of vacancies and information on boards, commissions, and committees can be found on the State of Hawai’i boards website.
Those interested in fulfilling a seat on a board, commission, or committee can apply online.
Only one board or committee can be served by a volunteer at a time.
