IEG FCU to Merge with Hawai’iUSA FCU

Independent Employers Group Federal Credit Union will merge with Hawai’iUSA Federal Credit Union.

The announcement came Tuesday morning following a Monday IEG FCU meeting.

According to company officials, the merger will occur Dec. 1.

As part of the merger, the existing IEG FCU branch, located at 375 Kekuanaoa St. in Hilo, will remain open.

IEG FCU had about $20 million in assets and 2,700 members, as of June 20. The company will transfer both its assets and members to Hawai’iUSA FCU.

Hawai’iUSA FCU is a $1.4 billion credit union with 123,000 members throughout Oahu and Maui.

Members of IEG FCU will receive direct information regarding the merger as the merger date nears.
