Looking Ahead
Trade winds can be expected over the next couple of day. Clouds and passing showers will favor windward and mauka areas during that time. Trade winds are forecast to strengthen a bit midweek. Toward the second half of the week another front is expected to approach the islands from the northwest. This will result in a decrease in trade winds.
The latest forecast track for hurricane Olaf shows the system moving northward far east of the Hawaiian Islands over the weekend. We will keep an eye on this and bring you the latest.

Today mostly sunny skies are expected with isolated afternoon showers for the Kona side and scattered morning showers for the Hilo side. High temperatures from 83° to 88°. Northeast winds are forecast around 15 mph.

Variable winds are expected in the evening up to 15 mph. Low temperatures from 71° to 76°. Mostly cloudy skies are expected in the evening with scattered showers for windward spots then showers likely after midnight. Leeward spots should see clearing as the night goes on.
