UPDATE: Flood Advisory Extended Through 2:15 a.m.

The National Weather Service has extended the Flood Advisory for the Big Island through 2:15 a.m. Sunday.

At 11:14 p.m., radar was showing moderate to locally heavy rain affecting the majority of the island.

Laupahoehoe reportedly experienced about two inches of rain per hour.

The heaviest of the rainfall was in Waipio Valley and Kamuela.

NWS says that heavy showers were moving into windward areas from Hilo to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park.

Minor flooding is expected across the island over the next several hours.

A Flood Advisory for the Big Island has been extended through 11:30 p.m. According to the National Weather Service, the advisory now includes the entire island.

Just after 8 p.m., radar was showing moderate to heavy rain covering most of the eastern half of the island, along with southeast slopes.

Rain was also developing in various areas across the island, with the heaviest showers in the Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park and Moutain View areas.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for southeastern portions of the Big Island through 9 p.m. Saturday.

Just after 6 p.m., radar was showing heavy rain moving into the southeastern portions of the island. The heavy rain is expected to cause minor flooding over the next several hours.

NWS officials say that the heaviest showers are extending from Hilo to Naalehu as a band of clouds spanned the area.

Hilo, Hawaiian Paradise Park, Honomu, Kea’au, Naalehu, Pohakuloa Training Area, Eden Roc, Hakalau, and Ookala are also included in the advisory.
