The Hawai’i County Fire Department resumed its search Tuesday morning for a 51-year-old man who went missing Saturday.

According to officials, the man was swept off a cliff into the ocean by high surf in the Kaloli Point area of Hawaiian Paradise Park.

A total of 10 HFD ground, air, and dive teams searched for the man Monday, searching an area about four miles north and south of the man’s last known point. Crews also searched half a mile off shore.

Nightfall and high surf conditions caused the search to be suspended Monday night.
