UPDATE: All Big Island Roadways Reopened

As of 11 p.m. the Hawai’i Police Department says all Big Island roadways have been reopened to traffic.

The Hawai’i Police Department reports that Highway 11 between the 58 and 59 mile markers, near Kawa Flats between Naalehu and Pahala, is currently closed due to flooding.

HPD says there is no alternate route available.

Highway 19 remains closed in Papaaloa.

Hualalai Road from Queen Kaahumanu Highway to Hienalole Road has been reopened.

Rainfall in the Laupahoehoe area has caused a closure along Highway 19 in Papaaloa. The closure is caused by flooding on a bridge near mile marker 23.

A Flash Flood Advisory has been issued for portions of East Hawai’i through 7:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Authorities advise motorists to use caution.

Flooding, ponding, and runoff has caused the closure of two Kona roadways.

Hualalai Road from Queen Kaahumanu Highway to Hienalole Road is currently closed, in addition to Kuakini Highway at Oni Oni Street.

The Hawai’i Police Department is urging motorists in the area to drive with caution and use alternate routes.

A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for portion of West Hawai’i through 4:45 p.m.
