Hilo side: Wave heights are expected knee/waist high today.
Kona side: Wave heights ankle/knee high are expected as the SSW fades out.
South: Wave heights ankle/waist high are expected for the breaks open to the fading south-southwest swell.
Jimena swell has dropped out completely and trade swell is all that we have in its wake. Otherwise, nothing much on the radar out of the NPAC.
Our current south-southwest is gradually fading out. A storm in the South Pacific is expected to send us another round of fun south-southwest swell starting Sunday, peaking Monday and Tuesday before beginning to fade on Wednesday.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
