Police Seeking Witnesses in Hilo Burglary

***Updated at 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11 to include a Hawai’i Police Department photo of a vehicle similar to the one used is Thursday’s burglary.***

A Thursday morning Hilo burglary is being investigated by the Hawai’i Police Department.

Just before 9 a.m., HPD reports that a black 1992 Nissan Pathfinder was used in a burglary on Amaulu Road in the Wainaku area.

The vehicle was found abandoned in the Kilauea Avenue and Mamo Street area of Downtown Hilo.

Anyone who may have seen the Nissan between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Thursday, or has information about the incident, should call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311, call Officer Donovan Kohara directly at 961-2272, or e-mail donovan.kohara@hawaiicounty.gov.

Those who prefer to remain anonymous should call the Big Island Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300.
