A man and a woman who were involved in a robbery of a pickup truck in Kurtistown Wednesday afternoon are being sought after by the Hawai’i Police Department.

According to HPD, a 32-year-old Volcano man was parked on the side of Huina Road and Kaihenui Place just after 2 p.m. when a large white Chevrolet pickup truck pulled up behind him.

A woman then reportedly approached the victim in his vehicle and struck up a conversation. She then jumped into the driver’s side of the truck and threatened him with a knife. The driver of the Chevrolet then got out of his truck and threatened the victim with a garden tool.

The woman drove off with the victim’s truck and the male suspect returned to the Chevrolet and followed.
