The West Hawai’i Region of Hawai’i Health Systems Corporation is seeking community input on its recent decision to close the skilled nursing service unit at Kona Community Hospital and the reduction of staffing at the hospital .

On Monday, HHSC and KCH announce its decision to reduce staff at the hospital by 34 workers and also to shut down its skilled nursing service unit in an effort to close in on the $6 million deficit the hospital is facing for the 2016 fiscal year.

Community members are invited to attend an input meeting on Monday, June 15 at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at KCH’s Administrative building, Conferences Rooms 2 & 3.
