A Small Craft Advisory is posted for Big Island leeward and southeast waters through 6:00 p.m. Sunday. East winds up to 30 knots are forecasted along with rough seas of 7 to 12 feet. Inexperienced mariners should avoid navigating in these conditions.

Today we expect high temperatures from 81° to 86°. Winds will continue to be out of the northeast from 15 to 20 mph with higher gusts. Leeward sides should be mostly sunny in the morning with some clouds building in the afternoon and scattered showers. Windward sides should be partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers in the morning and isolated showers in the afternoon.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected tonight with scattered windward showers. Partly cloudy for leeward spots with scattered showers and clearing as the night goes on. Northeast winds are forecasted from 15 to 20 mph. Low temperatures from 68° to 73° are expected.

 

Looking Ahead 

Locally fresh trade winds are expected through early next week. Clouds and showers should continue to favor windward and mauka areas, especially during the night and early morning, with some showers reaching leeward areas from time to time. The lee side of the Big Island will also see clouds and showers each afternoon.
