First-Team Golf Honors for UH-Hilo’s Yamauchi
Waiakea High School graduate and University of Hawai’i at Hilo senior Dalen Yamauchi is closing out his collegiate golf career with high honors from the PacWest Conference.
Yamauchi was named to the All-PacWest First Team this week. This season, he finished two tournament at the top of the leaderboard, including a playoff victory at the Dennis Rose Invitational. He finished out his career at the NCAA West/South Central Region Golf Tournament at the Hiddenbrooke Golf Course in a tie for 19th place. He was the top unattached individual in the field.
Teammate Kyeton Littel also earned PacWest recognition. He was placed on the All-PacWest Third Team. Littel also competed individually at the NCAA regional tournament, finishing in a tie for 76th place.
Dixie State junior Kenny You was named Golfer of the Year. California Baptist’s Kavan Eubank earned Freshman of the Year recognition. Coach of the Year was given to Dominican’s Gary Nelson.
