A Small Craft Advisory is posted for the ʻAlenuihāhā channel as well as Big Island leeward and southeast waters through 6:00 p.m. Friday. East winds up to 25 knots are forecasted along with rough seas of 7 to 12 feet. Inexperienced mariners should avoid navigating in these conditions.

Leeward spots will get lots of morning sunshine then clouds will build in the afternoon along with some isolated showers. Some leeward haze is expected in the afternoon. Windward spots are forecasted to get partly to mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers during the day. Winds are expected out of the northeast from 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph. High temperatures from 81° to 86°.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected tonight and windward showers are likely. Partly cloudy for leeward spots with isolated showers and clearing as the night goes on. Trade winds are forecasted from 15 to 25 mph. Low temperatures from 68° to 73° are expected.

 

Looking Ahead 

Moderate trade winds are forecasted through the week. Conditions should be stable with clouds and showers favoring windward and mauka areas. Pockets of moisture riding in on the trade winds may periodically boost showers, allowing a few showers to spread to the leeward areas of the smaller islands.
