Former Monk Presenting Music and Workshops in Kona
A former Zen Monk and philosophy professor, Dr. Will Tuttle, will be visiting the Hawaiian Queen Coffee Garden in Kona on April 23 and 25. Tuttle will also be at the New Thought Center in Kealakekua on April 24 and 26.
Dr. Tuttle is a pianist, composer, educator, and author based in northern California, and has performed and lectured throughout North America and Europe.
The four day series of visits will begin on Thursday, April 23 at 4 p.m. with a workshop called “Conscious Eating for a New Culture of Peace”, in which Dr. Tuttle will discuss his best-selling book “The World Peace Diet”. In it, he delves into the underlying causes behind injustice and disease, the far-reaching implications of our food choices, as well as pathways for individual transformation to contribute to world peace.
On Friday, April 24, he will be available for a Q&A session and discussion following a showing of “Cowspiracy – The Sustainability Secret” at 7 p.m. at the New Thought Center.
On Saturday, April 25, Dr. Tuttle will perform “Concert for a New World” on piano, described as an “inspiring and uplifting instrumental prayer for world peace”. The evening concert will include art by Will’s spouse Madeleine and a Swiss nature artist, as well as additional local musicians.
Tuttle’s Sunday event on April 26 will feature a workshop at 1:30 p.m. at the New Thought Center called “Opening the Intuitive Gate”. The workshop explores “the inner realms of intuitive imagery, opens doors into the art of meditative listening and transmits healing energy, peace, and joy into the world”.
All events cost $15, and the Cowspiracy showing with Q&A will be $10.
