Pahoa High School will not field a softball team for the rest of the 2015 season.

The announcement was made Thursday by Kohala High School Athletic Director Laurie Kaustik, who also serves as the Big Island Interscholastic Federation’s softball coordinator. The Daggers had forfeited its road game at Waiakea on Wednesday.

Pahoa had failed to earn a win in 4 games this season. The Daggers were the only team not to post a win on the season and will finish the year with an 0-10 record.

Michael Garcia, assistant athletic director and athletic trainer at Pahoa, did not return phone calls seeking comment. In an e-mail to the league’s athletic directors and the media, however, principal Darlene Bee said that “injuries and a small team led to our demise.”
