A Small Craft Advisory is in effect through Monday at 6:00 p.m. for the Alenuihaha channel and waters to the south and west of the Big Island. Rough seas from 6 to 12 feet are expected along with east winds of 20 to 25 knots. Inexperienced mariners should avoid navigating in these conditions.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected for windward spots and showers are likely mainly in the morning. Leeward spots should be mostly sunny in the morning with building cloud cover in the afternoon and isolated showers. Hazy skies are in the forecast for the leeward side in the afternoon. Northeast winds are forecasted from 10 to 20 mph. High temperatures from 80° to 85°.

The windward side is forecasted to get mostly cloudy skies and showers are likely. Leeward spots are cloudy to start and clearing is expected. Northeast winds are forecasted from 10 to 20 mph. Low temperatures from 68° to 73° are expected.

 

Looking Ahead 

A fairly wet trade wind weather pattern is expected through most of the upcoming week, although winds are forecasted to be rather light on Tuesday. While the trade winds will focus showers over windward and mauka areas, leeward areas will see a few showers as well from time to time.
