The Kona Hospital Foundation raised over $150,000 at its annual fundraiser to renovate and recentralize facilities at the Kona Community Hospital Cancer Center.

The 13th annual gala benefit was held on Nov. 22, 2014 at the Four Seasons Resort, and featured live music, auction items including art donated by hospital employees and their family members, and a buffet dinner.

The keynote speakers included Kona Community Hospital Chief Nurse Executive, Pat Kalua, RN, who delivered a heartfelt vision for the new center’s benefit to patients.  Alice Daniel and Kathy Kuharski also took the stage to share touching testimonials of their own experiences with cancer.

“We’re thankful for our donors, supporters and volunteers who made this event such a success,” said Kona Hospital Foundation Chairman, Jim Higgins. “Their generosity allows us to continue to support Kona Community Hospital for the health of our community.”
