Third Annual ‘Culinary Under the Stars’ Event to Benefit Hawai’i CC
The Kings’ Shops at Waikoloa Beach Resort and the American Culinary Federation Kona-Kohala Chefs Association are partnering once again to host the third ‘Culinary Arts Under the Stars’ – a premiere foodie event and silent auction happening from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Kings’ Shops at Waikoloa. The culinary extravaganza will feature live music by Lau Lima and choice creations by Kohala Coast chefs. All profits will benefit the Hawaii Community College Palamanui campus’ new culinary building.
Tickets are $45 in advance and $55 at the door, and may be purchased at Maui Divers Jewelry at the Kings’ Shops in Waikoloa, online at KingShops.com, and KonaKohalaChefs.org, and in Kona at Kailua Candy Company and Westside Wines. Beer by Kona Brewing Company and Wine by Westside Wines will be available for $5 scrips.
“Our goal is to help equip the teaching kitchens with state-of-the-art equipment for our future chefs and cooks. All funds raised through the event and silent auction will stay in West Hawaii and directly benefit the culinary arts program,” said event founder Jean Hull, CCE.
The confirmed participants for the event are: Roy’s Waikoloa Bar & Grill, The Three Fat Pigs Restaurant, Solimene’s Italian Restaurant, Sansei Seafood, Steak and Sushi Bar; Lava Lava Beach Club, Hawai’i Calls of Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, Kamuela Provision Company of Hilton Waikoloa Village, Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, Mamane Bakery, Coca-Cola, Hawai’i Kombuch, Alii Coffee, as well as a dessert and savory station by student chefs at the Hawaii Community College – West Hawaii.
The silent auction will be held from 5:30 – 7 p.m., and winning bids will be announced immediately following the closing of the auction. Kohala Coast restaurants and retailers at the Kings’ Shops have donated items for the auction to contribute to the fundraising effort for Hawai’i CC.
