The Hawai’i Police Department has identified the 13-year-old boy who went missing after jumping from a 15-foot cliff with friends Sunday at Hapuna Beach Park.

Gwyneth Augustin Borromeo’s body was recovered from an underwater cavern system near the beach park.

Hawai’i Fire Department and United States Coast Guard officials conducted searches for the Waikoloa boy, who also went by the name Jayson, since Sunday afternoon.

Upon the results of an autopsy conducted Thursday, it was determined that Borromeo’s death was caused by salt water drowning.
