Hawaiian Acres Fire Causes Major Damage
The Hawai’i Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in Hawaiian Acres early Monday afternoon
Fire fighters arrived on the scene at 12:13 p.m. to find the garage area of a single story residence fully engulfed in flames. Additionally, some of the fire extended through a crawl space over the living
The fire was extinguished and kept from spreading further into living quarters, using approximately 3,000 gallons of water, at around 12:30 p.m.
Upon extinguishing the fire, firefighters turned the scene over to the fire inspector. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
Total loss in damages has been listed at $120,000.
One individual was affected by the fire that caused major damage. The American Red Cross volunteers responded with immediate emergency needs, such as shelter, food, and clothing. Caseworkers will continue to follow up with the individual to ensure needs are being met and are also able to provide referrals to assist in disaster recovery.
