Man Charged With Firearms Offenses, Terroristic Threatening

Authorities have charged a Papaʻaloa man for multiple offenses stemming from an incident on August 2, 2014, in Hilo, as well as an earlier incident in Laupāhoehoe in April.

Timothy J. Nacis, 36, who had been previously described by police as “armed and dangerous,” was charged with two counts of criminal property damage, four counts of terroristic threatening, one count of unauthorized entry into a dwelling, one count of theft and two firearms offenses.

The incident in Hilo allegedly involved Nacis threatening several individuals at a Kaūmana residence, breaking windows, and making threats with a firearm. The Laupāhoehoe incident involved the theft of a large Honda generator.

Bail for Nacis has been set at $200,000. He is currently being held at the Hilo Police Station Cellblock, where he awaits his initial court appearance.
