Stebbins replaces former Corporation Counsel Lincoln Ashida, who resigned April 30 to take a position with a private law firm.

Stebbins has served as a deputy in the corporation counsel office since 2007, and is currently assigned to represent the police and fire departments.

She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and the University of Hawai‘i’s William S. Richardson School of Law.

Kenoi also selected Laureen Martin, a deputy in the department since 2009, as assistant corporation counsel.

Currently supervisor of the litigation section, Martin served as an assistant corporation counsel for Maui County from 2002 to 2009.
