Drivers License Exam to be Offered in Multiple Languages

The state next month will again be offering the Hawaii driver license exam in a variety of languages.

The Department of Transportation said beginning March 17, in addition to English the exam will be offered in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Tongan, Samoan, Tagalog, Ilocano, Hawaiian, Spanish, Chuukese and Marshallese.

The state began providing translations of the exam in eight languages in 2001, but stopped that practice about five years ago after changes were made to the test.
