Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying those responsible for damaging the grassy grounds at Kēōkea Beach Park in Kapaʻau on the evening of Oct. 25.

Hawaiʻi Police said an unknown individual or group drove a vehicle onto the grassy area below the park pavilion and performed circular driving maneuvers, commonly known as “doughnuts,” leaving the grass damaged.

Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could help identify those involved to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact North Kohala Officer Curry McFadden through the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311.

Individuals wishing to remain anonymous can submit tips to Crime Stoppers at 808-961-8300. All information provided to Crime Stoppers is kept confidential.
