Officer Jessica Cook was recently named North Kohala Officer of the Third Quarter in recognition of her outstanding dedication, initiative, and commitment to serving the community.

Cook has demonstrated exceptional initiative in DUI and traffic enforcement, according to a Hawai‘i Police Department news release. Her commitment to traffic safety reflects her dedication to protecting lives and maintaining safe roadways.

This was particularly evident during Hurricane Lala, when Cook played an instrumental role in clearing Highways 250 and 270, two critical roadways, under challenging conditions.

Throughout the third quarter, Cook volunteered for numerous special assignments and was a valuable mentor in the North Kohala district.

“She has consistently gone above and beyond to answer questions, provide guidance, share her knowledge, and ensure that fellow officers are properly supported, particularly with newly assigned recruits,” said Capt. William Derr. “Her willingness to assist others has made her a valuable resource and a positive influence within the district.”
