$650,000 distributed to 65 local nonprofits during Hawaiʻi Island Charity Walk celebration
This year’s impact included $10,000 contributions each to Vibrant Hawai‘i and to the Hawai‘i Community Foundation to support Hurricane Lala relief efforts.
The Hawai‘i Island Chapter of the Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association distributed more than $650,000 in Charity Walk proceeds to more than 65 local charities and nonprofit organizations during a celebration on Friday at the Auberge Mauna Lani Resort in Waimea.
This year’s impact included $10,000 contributions to Vibrant Hawai‘i and to the Hawai‘i Community Foundation to support Hurricane Lala relief efforts.
The Charity Walk was held May 9 at Waikōloa Beach Resort, bringing together all hotels along the Kohala Coast and their employees to support the local organizations that help Hawai‘i Island thrive.
Every contribution, every step and every act of support helped turn a community tradition into tangible assistance for nonprofits serving people across the island.

“The HLTA Charity Walk is a testament to the incredible unity and generosity of our visitor industry,” said Charlie Parker, regional vice president and general manager of Four Seasons Resort Hualālai and chair of the Hawai‘i Island Charity Walk. “It’s truly heartwarming to see everyone come together to celebrate and support the vital work that our local charities and nonprofits do for our community here on the Big Island.”
The celebration honored the nonprofit awardees and the broad network of supporters whose generosity makes the Charity Walk possible.

The Hawai‘i Island Chapter thanked the Charity Walk sponsors: Waikōloa Land; Queens’ Marketplace; Kohala Coast Resort Association; Enterprise Rent-A-Car; Hawai‘i Dredging; Isemoto Contractors; Queen’s Health Systems; RMG Hawai‘i; Goodfellow Brothers; and Nordic PCL Construction.
