A section of Mamalahoa Highway in North Kona will close Thursday night to enable Hawaiian Electric crews to replace a utility pole.

The full road closure is scheduled from 10 p.m. Oct. 15 to 6 a.m. Oct. 16.

The closure is scheduled near the highway’s 7- to 8-mile markers, about a half-mile south of Lawaia Road.

The work is not expected to cause a power outage.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and exercise caution when approaching the work zone.
