A meet-and-greet for Republican Party gubernatorial candidate Gary Cordery will be held in Kona this week.

Cordery will be at the Kona Christian Church, located at 74-5583 Luhia St., Suite B3, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to a news release from Cordery’s campaign team, the Republican candidate has also challenged Hawai‘i Gov. Josh Green to a televised general-election debate.

Cordery’s campaign is focused on accountable government, homes local families can afford, lower costs, public safety, and practical reforms that put measurable results ahead of political power, according to the campaign news release.

The West Hawai‘i Republican Party will also be having weekly sign-waving events in support of Cordery and other Republican candidates ahead of the General election in November. Those candidates include:

• Daniel Anthony – Candidate for Lieutenant Governor
• Brenton Awa – Congressional District 2
• Monique Perreira – State House District 8
• Dalene McCormick – State House District 5

Those interested in participating in sign waving, see the schedule below:

• Kapa‘au on Mondays from 4 to 5 p.m. by Kohala Elementary School and K. Takata Store.
• Kona on Tuesdays from 3 to 5 p.m. in front of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints off Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway.
• Waimea on Thursdays from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. next to the Purdy Statue.

Signs will be available at the sign-waving events.
