Hāmākua Energy will host a virtual community information meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 25, to provide an update about the company’s operations and energy plans.

The company, which supplies about 20 percent of Hawai‘i Island’s electricity, continues to work with Hawaiian Electric to provide reliable, cost-effective power to the utility’s grid serving island residents and businesses, the company said.

During the meeting, which runs from 6 to 7 p.m., Hāmākua Energy officials will review activities from the past two months, outline plans for the remainder of 2026 aimed at strengthening the island’s energy resilience, and respond to questions from the public.

Participants interested in joining should register by emailing Amy Komatsuzaki, asset manager, at akomatsuzaki@hamakuaenergy.com by Friday, August 21.

Registered individuals will then receive a meeting link.
