Stay up-to-date on all weather and news with Big Island Now app

Big Island Now launched a major app update for mobile phones in July, providing users with breaking news alerts, faster loading, easier navigation and all the latest local news, weather, entertainment and other content that also is available at BigIslandNow.com.

Readers can now send in tips, pictures and videos through the “Report It” section. With Tropical Storm Lala approaching, Big Island Now is encouraging its viewers to share footage they capture. Anything we post online will be provided credit.

For those who do not have the app, it is available as a free download in the Apple App Store and on Google Play. You can click here for the app store links.

People who already have the Big Island Now app should update to the latest version in the Apple App Store or Google Play to access the newest features and improvements.

Wherever you go, it is easy to stay on top of major developments, including dangerous weather conditions and road closures, with breaking news alerts displayed at the top of the app.

The redesigned home screen also features top stories, category shortcuts and an “In Case You Missed It” section.
