Young Brothers plans modified cargo acceptance, availability at Port of Kawaihae
Hawai‘i shipping company Young Brothers will have modified cargo acceptance and availability at the Port of Kawaihae this month.

The port will no longer be closed Aug. 13. Instead, it will operate with normal gate hours as well as cargo acceptance and availability. The gate will close at 3 p.m. Aug. 12.
Members of the public are reminded that the port will have modified cargo acceptance and availability Aug. 20 and operate normal gate hours from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m., with no changes to cargo acceptance for dry less than container load mixed and palletized cargo, automobiles and roll-on roll-off cargo.
Kawaihae port will have extended gate hours until 3:30 p.m. Aug. 19 for customer convenience to pick up all cargo and accept cargo bound for Honolulu.
All straightload equipment, including empty container returns, must be dropped off by Aug. 19 as they will not be accepted Aug. 20.
Normal Kawaihae operations resume Aug. 21.
“We appreciate your flexibility as we work to keep the marine highway running smoothly for all the communities we serve,” said a Young Brothers notice via email. “Please check our website for updates regarding cargo acceptance and sailing schedules.”
