Hawai‘i Police Department Hilo Community Policing Section and Hawai‘i Isle Police Activities League say mahalo to everyone who participated in and made a recent Hawai‘i Isle Police Activities League a success.
Nearly 20 keiki dirt bike riders ages 7 to 17 years old from around the island participated in the June 28 event.
Competition divisions were based on dirt bike size and included 50cc, 60–80cc, 120cc and Big Bike classes.
Division winners received medals and prizes.

The event was organized by Hilo Community Policing Officer Christopher Barto in coordination with MX 808’s Tessa Angeleo. It provided participating keiki an opportunity to enjoy friendly competition while building positive relationships with law enforcement and fellow dirt bike riders.
Hawai‘i Isle Police Activities League is a Hawai‘i Police Department program aimed at engagement between police officers — serving as mentors — and island youth through recreational and educational activities.
These positive interactions encourage teamwork, citizenship, responsibility and trust between keiki and law enforcement.
