Toyota Hawaiʻi awards free 2026 Corolla to Oʻahu student
An Oʻahu graduate has a new set of wheels — for free — as winner of the inaugural Cap & Corolla Giveaway by Toyota Hawaiʻi.
Frederick Tamayo Jr., a 2026 graduate from ʻEwa Beach, was awarded a new 2026 Toyota Corolla on July 10 at Servco Toyota Honolulu. He was randomly selected from more than 4,000 eligible entries submitted throughout the June campaign.

“This is the first car giveaway from Toyota Hawaiʻi for first-time owners, and we’re thrilled that it supports the next generation of local drivers,” said Toyota Hawaiʻi Senior Vice President Lance Ichimura in a media release announcing the winner. “Buying your first car and navigating life after graduation can be intimidating. We hope that by providing this vehicle to a deserving local graduate, Toyota Hawaiʻi is making a meaningful difference in their journey ahead.”
Tamayo said: “As a recent graduate, I have a lot of new responsibilities and having a reliable, brand-new car provides me with a lot of flexibility and peace of mind.”
Toyota Hawaiʻi is continuing to support first-time buyers through the program, offering qualified buyers down payment support and financing opportunities to help them approach their purchase with greater confidence.
