Traffic investigation closes portion of Aliʻi Drive in North Kona

Authorities are advising motorists to avoid a section of Aliʻi Drive in North Kona due to an active traffic investigation that is expected to keep the roadway closed for several hours.
The closure affects Aliʻi Drive between Queen Kalama Avenue and Makolea Street. Hawaiʻi Police announced that the road will likely stay closed for about six hours as investigators work on the scene.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area until the investigation is complete. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
