Update: Emergency repairs to well in Ocean View have been completed
Update at 3 p.m. July 2: Emergency repairs to the Hawaiian Ocean View Estates well in Ka‘ū have been completed.
Effective immediately, the essential needs only notice has been cancelled, and normal water usage from the water spigots may resume.
Hawaiian Ocean View Estates standpipes will reopen for commercial water hauling on Monday, July 6.

Original story at 8:50 a.m. June 15: Public water spigots in Hawaiian Ocean View Estates are being restricted to essential needs only, as the well in Ocean View is currently down and being repaired.
While the drinking spigots remain open for community access, they are limited to essential needs, such as drinking, cooking, or personal hygiene. The Hawai‘i County Department of Water Supply will be hauling water from Nā‘ālehu to the Ocean View tank while the well is being repaired.
The standpipe facility for water haulers is closed until repairs can be completed.
