Hāmākua Energy to host quarterly online community information meeting
Hāmākua Energy, which supplies 20% of the electricity on Hawai‘i Island, will host its quarterly online community information meeting at the end of this month.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m. June 30. The public is welcome to attend.

A recap of the company’s activities from the past quarter along with plans for the remainder of 2026 to make Hawai‘i Island more energy resilient will be shared and energy-related questions from participants answered during the upcoming informational meeting.
Hāmākua Energy in Honoka‘a has operated more than 25 years. The company focuses on delivering reliable, affordable energy and serves as a catalyst for Hawai‘i’s transition to zero carbon, energy self-sufficiency and resiliency.
Its power plant can generate up to 1,440 megawatt-hours of electricity a day, which can power roughly 50,000 homes on Hawai‘i Island.
Hāmākua Energy also continues its partnership with Hawaiian Electric to deliver reliable, cost-effective energy to feed the utility’s grid for island residents and businesses.
