A wind advisory has been issued for all Hawaiʻi Island beginning at 6 p.m. this evening (Wednesday, May 20) through Friday morning.

The National Weather Service issues a wind advisory when sustained winds of at least 30 miles per hour and/or frequent gusts of at least 50 miles per hour are expected.

During the advisory, motorists are advised to drive with caution and be aware of debris, downed trees and utility lines. Stay clear of all down utility lines and report all hazards to authorities.
