Beach parks in Hilo close following shark sighting

Carlsmith Beach Park and James Kealoha Beach Park in Hilo are closed for the remainder of the day on Friday, May 15, due to a shark sighting.
The decision to close the beach parks was made in coordination with the Ocean Safety Division of the Hawai‘i Fire Department.
