Original story at 1:05 p.m. Wednesday, May 13: The Hawaiʻi Police Department advises the public to avoid Kīlauea Avenue between Puainako and Ohe streets in South Hilo due to a downed utility pole. The road is expected to be closed for the next 2 hours, which is around 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
