Monthly statewide outdoor emergency siren test slated morning of May 1

The monthly test of the Statewide Outdoor Warning Siren System is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. Friday, May 1.

The siren test will also be coordinated with a test of the Live Audio Broadcast segment of the Emergency Alert System.

All sirens will sound a 1-minute steady tone, accompanied by a test of the Emergency Alert System in cooperation with the Hawai‘i broadcast industry.

There will be no exercise or drill accompanying the test.
