Chief Mahuna continues to foster open dialogue with free talk story sessions
Hawai‘i Police Department Chief Reed Mahuna will host an informal talk story in Kapaʻau tomorrow, Tuesday, April 21.
Mahuna is organizing free, monthly talk story sessions, “Talk Story with the Chief,” to strengthen communication and connection between police leadership and the community. The informal format is intentional and reflects the department’s goal of being accessible and responsive to the community.
The meetings rotate throughout Hawai‘i Island and provide residents an opportunity to meet directly with Mahuna and district commanders to share concerns, ask questions, and discuss public safety issues in an open, conversational setting.
The talk story is scheduled for noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, at the Kohala Intergenerational Center, 54-364 Kamehameha Park Road, in Kapaʻau.
