UPDATE: 17-year-old runaway found in good health

Update at 5:52 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2026: Hawai’i Island police reported just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 2, that 17-year-old Juwika Langu, who was previously reported as a runaway, was located in good health Wednesday, March 25, in Hilo.

Story originally posted at 4:57 a.m. March 25, 2026: A 17-year-old girl was reported as a runaway and Hawai‘i Island police are asking if anyone in the public has seen her or might have information that can lead to finding her.

Juwika Langu

Juwika Langu was last seen just after 2 p.m. Monday, March 23, in the Kea‘au area. She was wearing a light-colored Winnie the Pooh sweater, black or gray sweatpants and green backpack.

She is described as 4-foot-9, 135 pounds, Micronesian, with a dark complexion, medium build, long black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who might have information about Langu’s whereabouts is urged to contact Hawai‘i Police Department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311.
