Water use restriction remains in place for South Kohala customers as work on well continues
A water use restriction remains in effect for portions of South Kohala as Hawai‘i County works on well repairs.
Customers are required to continue to reduce water use by 25%, and irrigation customers are also required to reduce water use by at least 25%. These restrictions are needed to maintain adequate water levels in the water storage tanks for all customers while well repairs are being completed.
Affected areas include Kawaihae, Kawaihae Harbor, Hapuna Beach Resort, Mauna Kea Beach Resort, Puakō and Mauna Lani Resort.
Hawai‘i County Department of Water Supply asks customers to use water wisely and not waste it. To learn more ways to reduce water use, visit the DWS website at www.hawaiidws.org, call 808-961-8050 during normal business hours or email dws@hawaiidws.org.
For after-hours emergencies, call 808-961-8790.
