If you were unable to attend a community meeting and still want to have your voice heard or would like to provide additional input beyond what was already shared, the oversight authority and its consultant are offering the public one last chance through an online community survey.

But don’t wait. The survey closes today (Feb. 27).

The questionnaire is the final opportunity in Mauna Kea Stewardship and Oversight Authority’s public engagement phase — it is meant to ensure as many public perspectives as possible and the most community input are reflected in the new Comprehensive Management Plan.

“This survey seeks to understand the perspectives and pilina [relationships, connections] that the people of Hawaiʻi, living at home and away, have with Mauna Kea,” says the landing page of the online community survey. “Your manaʻo [input and ideas] will help ensure that Mauna Kea is protected for future generations as the Mauna Kea Stewardship and Oversight Authority initiates a comprehensive master planning Process.”

Participation in the survey is totally voluntary, and participant responses will be kept confidential.

“We urge you to participate and to share this survey with others who care about Mauna Kea,” says Mauna Kea Stewardship and Oversight Authority in an email reminder about the survey.
