Hawaiian Electric crews will replace two power poles during utility work scheduled in downtown Hilo on Jan. 20 and 21.

The work will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on both days and will require closing the mauka lane of Kīlauea Avenue near the Aupuni Street intersection.

On-street parking in the area may also be temporarily restricted.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, use alternate routes, and exercise caution when traveling through the area. Traffic flaggers will be on-site to direct vehicles and maintain safety around the work zone.
